Getting close to Tang Dawu

This pic from the RAP visit | COnversations: Malaysia - photo by Jennifer Teo.

We were visiting SAM and went to the resource room with Dawu's work and documentation photo (from Koh... who else has them?)

Oh yes - was surprised that many of the RAP members know quite a bit about Dawu's work.

Then, I realised that not even SAM doesn't have much information and works by Dawu.

Another project waiting to be realised... to see the whole body of Dawu's work will be another goal in the near future.

I ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzsleep!. Gd nite.

A Saturday - very busy one.

Finally finished a whole lot of things... they were all chained-events!

First it was the Errata Exhibition then it was the Malaysian artist residencies and the Septfest forum.

Saturday was the Septfest forum: It was a bit disappointing - we did get started but the most important part was not realised. "The Discussion!"

Then we visited NAFA show, Textrapolis and then the talk. Chai Hiang's work was the best piece in the show. I liked the Vertical Submarine piece too. It is more successful than the piece in Tickleart. The talk was a bit weird - wished I attended the whole thing somehow.

Anyhow, then we went to Dawu's show in Miu Studio. I like the works on the show, there were some performances by some students but got stopped by the Takashimaya Security guards.

Then sent the Saubin to the train station - only to miss the train again. (for the second time!) It was funny.

Overall, it was a weird saturday - I felt lost ... metaphorically between the Septfest Forum and Dawu's exhibition.

Oh, recently went to see the andriod show in Sculpture square. A big disappointment. A lot of the pieces were not working. I know this is media art thing ... but really, even the augmented reality pieces were quite lame and not working! Wonder why I bother to say this anyway.

RAP in town | Very Special Arts | Lina Adam

WEll, great to have met with the RAP members finally.

The talk by them on Tuesday has seen a relatively luke warm turn up. (31 attended)

Like we said earlier on, it is much like a first step and that we can through the residency find the time and space to "interact and exchange" with each other.

As part of the programme, Jennifer and Kit has been taking them on a whirl wind tour of Singapore art sites.

More updates on this I suppose. Another thing, this week alone, there are 3 openings which I know of. (Very Special Arts, Print making Society and Lina Adam's solo show)

Alright - I guess that's all for now. We got more images which we can share about the residency.

Nothing wrong here

Hey, just a word out - we have been over-working for the exhibition @ Singapore History Museum. Won't complain too much on that now.

The stuff to do has been crazy! But Jen sent out an e-mail asking for volunteers and the response has been fantastic.

We feel really encouraged by the response to volunteer on the Errata project. It is a lot of tedious work on the project and we are so thankful that the volunteers are really giving their time and efforts for the project. THanks a million you all!

Now that we are at "crunch" time and installing the work... I am keeping my fingers crossed and going through the collection to see what might be missed out.

Below is a pic of the previous meeting for the Exchange 05.
