An Index of Kindness: An Experimental Art Project by Ruark Lewis and Jonathan Jones

Do join us for An Index of Kindness: An Experimental Art Project by Ruark Lewis and Jonathan Jones

Australian artists Ruark Lewis and Jonathan Jones have been here in Singapore since early September. They are here as part of Run Artists Run, an Asialink artist exchange programme, between p-10 and 1/2doz in Sydney. During their time in Singapore, they will work on transcribing the events and objects they observe here to develop a series of site-specific installations and performances that considers the importance of language.

Do join us for the Opening Reception of An Index of Kindness at 7.30pm on 25 Sep (Tue) in Show Room, Post-Museum.

Dates: 26 September to 23 October 2007

Time: Tue to Fri: 6pm to 10pm; Sat & Sun: 12pm to 10pm (Other times by appointment only)

Venue: Show Room, Post-Museum

Location: 107+109 Rowell Rd (in Little India near Jalan Besar)

Admission: Free

In addition, prior to the exhibition, we will be holding Videotek, a private screening of video art works from Sydney and by indigenous Australian artists. The video works are selected by the artists and they will be present to talk about the works. Videotek will be held at 8pm on 22 Sep (Sat) in Back Room, Post-Museum. This session is open to friends only. Please RSVP as there is limited capacity.

About the Artists

Ruark Lewis has had a successful two-decade career as an artist, performance artist, curator and writer who operates across a range of disciplines. His work is featured in the 2006 Biennale of Sydney entitled 'Zones of Transition'. He founded Haiku Review web-art journal.

Jonathan Jones is a member of the Kamilaroi and Wiradjuri language groups. He is a practicing installation artist who lives in Sydney and works nationally and internationally. In 2005 Jonathan completed white lines, a major commission for Westpac's new headquarters in Sydney. He received the New South Wales Indigenous Artists Fellowship in 2002 and the acquisitive Xstrata Coal Emerging Indigenous Art Award from the Queensland Art Gallery in 2006. He is currently the artist for the AXA Building in Melbourne's Docklands due to be completed in late 2007. Jonathan Jones is represented by Gallery Barry Keldoulis, Sydney.

coming back from China | I M BREATHER Part III video segments out now!

Hey, happy chinese new year. Jen and myself were away in China and going crazy with fire-crackers, visiting relatives, exploring and all.

Updates: We are still in our 3 months break. But not just slacking around been busy with documentation of p-10 related projects. See below.
