UPDATES

1. Till Tue (17 Nov), 6-10pm, Show Room, Free: Masquerade by Jung Eun Shin (Korea) takes the garden drawings and paintings of twentieth-century American painter Jennifer Bartlett as a point of reference and uses plastic as a substitute for pencil, crayon, ink and paint, replacing organic substances with inorganic material.



2. Opening Thu (19 Nov), 7pm, Show Room, Free: Life > Art > Liberation by Tang Mun Kit. This 16th solo exhibition features 21 works from a series, conceptualised from end 1992-1993 and completed this year, which reflects on the artist's perception on the human condition in the local context and the world at large. Till 2 Dec.



3. Last week, Fukuoka Asian Art Museum (Fukuoka, Japan), Free: Our project Fukuoka Really Really Free Market is held as part of Fukuoka Triennale (till 23 Nov). For more info, please have a look at http://server-foundation.org/frrfm/.

4. Now on: Post-Museum is looking for Exhibition Proposals and ideas of other programmes to be held in Show Room from Jan 2010. Do send us an email if you are interested.

1. Wed (18 Nov), 8pm, 72-13 Mohamed Sultan Rd, Free: Screening of Journey to the Moon (79 min, with English subtitles), the newest film by Kutlug Ataman. Part of Flying Circus Project Platform 02.



2. Starting Fri (20 Nov), 10am-10pm, 1 HarbourFront Walk, Free: Art Against Aids Photography Exhibition. A first in Singapore, this exhibition showcases the poignant photographic works of 10 people who live with HIV/AIDS and who volunteer with or care for people living with the disease.



3. Sat (21 Nov), 4.30pm, Substation Gallery (45 Armenian St), Free: Artist Talk by Lucy Davis. Together Again (Wood:Cut) Part II is the second part of an ongoing inquiry into the “secret lives" of rainforest products, explored as materials, metaphors, magic, ecological resources and historical agents.

p-10 Update (1-7 Sep 08): Children + Hai Kou + Food #03

Dear friend,

The new happenings this week are:

1. For Mr. & Mrs. Children, the first combined solo art
exhibitions of local artists Chun Kaifeng and Chun Kaiqun. Now on in
Show Room, this playful and fun exhibition is a comment on the country
they have grown up in. Till 21 Sep from 6-10pm (Tue-Fri), 12-10pm
(Sat+Sun); closed on Mon+PH.

2. p-10's Kok Boon, Sze-Chin and Tien debut their latest film Hai
Kou in Busan Biennale! From Sat (6 Sep) to 15 Nov, Hai Kou will be
shown in the Sea Art Festival and Tien is in Korea to participate in
the opening events.

3. In Food #03, Team Food #03 runs the show without Tien! Come lend them your support!

4. Our newly created special mooncake`- the Tempeh Mooncake - is
now available for dine-in or take-away. This is a surprising and

p-10 Update (4-10 Aug 08): Exhibition, talk, bar and National Day!

Dear friend,



Come visit us this week`for:



1. Ancestors on the Beach by Jimmy Ong. Now on in Show Room till 20
August. This is Ong's first major solo exhibition in Singapore in 11
years and is part of IndigNation. Private reception is at 7.30pm on Thu
(7 Aug). Opening hours are 6-10pm (Tue-Fri), 12-10pm (Sat+Sun), closed
this Sat (National Day) and on Mon.



2. Talk by Mitsunori Sakano. This Tue (5 Aug), 7.30pm, in Back
Room. Sakano is a member of Command N in Tokyo and he'll be talking
about the group and its activities around Japan.



3. Bar Nite. This Fri and Sat in Food #03, we'll be serving drinks and snacks till midnight.



4. National Day celebrations. Food #03 is open on Sat (9 Aug) from noon to midnight so come celebrate with us!

Met kit and he was lamenting that there was not many people who attended the symposium.

Jen, Kit and myself was at one of Crumb dialogue session where I had a dialogue with Nina about collaborative curating projects.

Anyway, hope to update on that sometime.

p-10 Update (16-22 Jun 08): Method, raw dessert, guest chef, Bar

Dear friend,

Come by to Post-Museum to view the photo exhibition currently on: Method by Sean Lee. Lee is a wildly imaginative photographer and he has created a fictional character Shauna. The series of photos on display, entitled The Life of Shauna, documents Shauna's journey of discovery through her experiences in and around the world of transsexuals. Part of Month of Photography 2008. This exhibition is on till 29 June, opened 6-10pm (Tue-Fri), 12-10pm (Sat+Sun); closed on Mon.

Coming soon at Food #03: an exciting new raw dessert... We are also looking for people who are interested to be our Guest Chef. So if you have a delicious vegetarian recipe to share, let us know!

Lastly, Food #03 will be open for Bar Nites on Fri and Sat, serving drinks and snacks till midnight - come hang out!

p-10 Update (2-8 June 2008): ArtGoGo Tour and Short+Sweet Chinese plays

Dear friend,



This week, we are doing our first ArtGoGo Tour. Entitled Art, Memory and
People, this specially formulated NAC-AEP programme features veteran
local artist Amanda Heng. The tour gives students the opportunity to
spend 4 hours with the artist, visit the various sites where her work
took place and have a personal dialogue with her. We are looking for
more schools who are interested in this programme, so if you are, do
contact us to arrange a session.



Also, for one night only, this Sat (7 June) from 7-10pm in Post-Museum
Show Room, Short+Sweet Singapore 2008 will be holding a reading session
of 10 short Chinese plays, followed by a small discussion on quality
Chinese plays, led by Richard Chua (Artistic Director, Little Red Shop).
This session is open to public and is pay-what-you-want.

p-10 Update (24 - 30 March): Special Screening, Pasar PM and Earth Bar

Dear friend,

1. Join us on Wed (26 Mar) for a Special Screening of Decasia (Bill Morrison, 2002) + Zygosis (Gavin Hodge, 1991). Decasia is a meditation on the human quest

to transcend physicality, constructed from decaying archival footage and set to an original symphonic score, while Zygosis is a tribute to John Heartfield, the

anti-Nazi German satirist who pioneered the photomontage. This is for friends only, and if you are interested to attend, please call 6396 3598.

2. Pasar PM is back this Sat+Sun (29+30 Mar) from noon to 8pm, with stalls selling original works and pre-loved items. It is bigger and better this time as we are collaborating with our neighbour Museum of Shanghai Toys who will be waiving their usual entrance charge for the occasion! Everyone is welcome to join in the fun!

There are still stalls available. A space is $20/day only - contact us now if you want to set up a stall.

3. Food #03 is having Earth Bar from 8pm-1am this Sat (29 Mar). This is our extended version of Earth Hour, a worldwide action of turning off the lights for one hour to deliver a message about the need for action on global warming. Come by to eat, drink and hang out in candle light!

4. Lastly, we are still looking for Wait Staff in Food #03. Give us a call if you are available to work on a part-time basis with us!
