Documenting Exhibitions and Writing Art History

Lise Nellemann, founder of Sparwasser HQ, will present alternative ways of writing (art) history. Invited local contemporary artists Ho Tzu Nyen, Paul Rae and Woon Tien Wei, and a German artist in Singapore, Dirk Fleischmann, were asked to respond to and elaborate upon a selection from Sparwasser’s archive of exhibitions. They will be making their presentations during this event.

Winning an astonishing 61 awards, Te Doy Mis Ojos (Take My Eyes), directed by one of Spain’s most promising woman directors Iciar Bollain, is a powerful film about reclaiming one's dignity and finding the hero within ourselves to change our lives. Joanna Lee, guest curator of the exhibition, explores ways in which SEA arists have invoked, expressed and/or interrogated notions of space/land as place, and identity as placeness through varied forms of artistic expressions in modern and contemporary art. Held in conjunction with Highlights of Southeast Asian Collection.

No puppahmamah opening pics!


The pictures are out! for the opening of No puppahmama exhibition at our new space.

For clarifications, we are not moving yet because it is under renovation. The time we are moving there is probably next year April.
