Dear friend,

This instalment of p-10 Picks is for the next 2 weeks as we are taking a break for the holidays:

Feast!

By candidates of MA Fine Arts

Earl Lu Gallery (10 Goodman Rd)

Free

This is an exhibition of works created by the candidates of the MA Fine Arts programme in Lasalle-SIA College of the Arts, as a result of their participation in workshops conducted by renowned artist Rirkrit Tiravanija. The exhibition continues till 28 Feb.

2. Sun (25 Feb), 7pm

FOCAS No-Frills Fundraiser

The Substation Theatre (45 Armenian St)

Free

This is a fundraising event for FOCAS Forum On Contemporary Art & Society – the only English-language publication in Singapore, perhaps in the region, which consistently questions the role of art in Southeast Asian cultural politics. More than S$10,000 is needed to publish the next issue, FOCAS 6 Regional Animalities, which seeks to contribute to a growing awareness of just how critical relationships between humans and nature are to our material and symbolic existence in Southeast Asia. There will be presentations by Lucy Davis (Editor), Alfian Sa’at and Ho Tzu Nyen this evening.

3. Now – 3 Mar

Send Me an Angel

By Tang Ling Nah

Front Row Level 3 (5 Ann Siang Rd)

Mon – Sat: 12 – 7pm (Closed on Sundays and 19 – 20 Feb)

In this solo exhibition by Tang Ling Nah, winner of the NAC’s Young Artist Award in 2004, she explores materials such as charcoal, paint and paper to create a drawing installation in the gallery space.

We wish you all happy Chinese New Year holidays and a wonderful Year of the Pig!

Regards,
Jennifer.
