p-10 Picks (22 - 28 October)

Dear friend,

Here is our selection of art events happening in Singapore this week:

1. Now – Sat (27 Oct)

Art Space Germany

NAFA Galleries 1 & 2 (80 Bencoolen St)

10am-7pm (Mon-Sat)

Free

This exhibition showcases artists of non-German nationalities, on the premise of their practices in Germany and their subsequent influences within the German art scene. Thereby tracing how Germany, over the last 30 years, has developed into a contemporary artistic hub where artists of different cultural backgrounds have successfully integrated themselves.

2. Now – Sun (28 Oct)

Nature Constructed

By Marisa Keller

Fost Gallery (65 Kim Yam Rd)

12-7pm (Tue-Sun), 1-5pm (Sun)

Free

This exhibition of prints stems from the Singapore-based Dutch artist’s concern for the preservation of nature and seeks to highlight the effects of man's impact on the environment.

3. Talk: Sat (27 Oct), 2-5pm

Ruins and other Broken Structures
Kay Ngee Tan Architects Gallery (16 Duxton Hill)

Free (Register at 6423-0198 or gallery@kayngeetanarchitects.com)

A discussion between Ho Hui May (photographer of Domestic Dystopia as well as winner of the photography category, 26th UOB Painting of the year) and Jason Wee (curator, writer and multi-disciplinary artist) on issues around the spectacle of ruins, challenging preconceptions towards unrealized art forms and concept design.

Check them out and have a great week ahead!

Regards,
Jennifer.
