Reading with Tay Shi Ying: Debating Singapore
Here is Shi Ying reading a text i have been reading about how an artist asking a journalist to write about her.
It shows a frame of mind that there is very little division between the work and the artist. Kind of suggesting that this is the same thing. But as we all know, good chefs have bad days and so do artists. Not every artwork is good / not every dish will turn out fine.
Enjoy the video and if you are interested to discuss this more please feel free to comment. If you wish to read this essay, it is at our shelf at Food #03-BenBino's. Feel free to read it but i can't lend anyone to bring home cause i am still using it for my paper.

Recital notes.
This Friday, Post-Museum staged a Recital progrAm featuring jeff, kai and Yuzuru. Three different sound artists.
I recorded the whole gig and thinking of showing some of the pieces online.
I enjoyed the interaction of the three of them musically. Yuzuru was playing two string instruments, one sitar like instrument and the other was an Okinawa instrument, which I cannot recall the name at this point. Kai played from an assortment of 'analog' effects devices. While Jeff was sampling both their sounds and adding a layer on top of their sounds.
Overall, the recital model gives the space for people to focus and listen to their sounds.
Wish there were more audience who could experience the show. On that I m quite disappointed with the turn out.
Ok, nxt blog entry, I should talk about the round table discussion held at substation after I hear the recording.
Transmission out!

A nice talk on Sunday.
We had nice talk by Takashi about contemporary art in japan. Special thks to everyone who turned up for it. Especially when it is on a Sunday afternoon. Felt it has been engaging for all.
Basically, it's a show n tell of artworks within a framework which Takashi observed in the artists n their works,
Also to add, Kenji visited us today and gave the Ropponggi Crossing exhibition catalog at the Mori Museum which he was a guest curator. I m leaving it at food #03 so everyone interested can read it the nxt time u come.

Post-Museum room rates
Heeeello! long time no blog. Anyway, here is the link to the page where we show you the rates of rental. (somehow people don't read this or manage to find it). Well, I thought I will highlight in the blog so people get to know about it.

Farewell, goodbye good morning uncle
FinAlly, good morning uncle has finished his charge. As Serming predicted, he got a short 4 mth term.
So that's a relief. He is such a jovial guy and over the past 2 months, he has seem so sad as he was told that a maximum sentence is 7 years. I would see him gazing into spots and just trying to take it all in before he goes in. In fact, he was so sad that I dragged him in to ask Serming to give him a tarot reading to ease his mind.
Well, hope he is alright and we will miss his silly jokes. Most importantly, hope he makes the best of his freedom when he comes out.

Sign drop
Was at food court at TOa payoh.
Cause got to go library n fix specs.
Wind so strong, I turned around n saw the signboard drop. With old lady pointing at sign.
So we watched for a while as people walk over it. Hesitated to pick it up as I was tempted to just watch. Until old lady walk towards it...
Thought she was goingg to pick it up, so I was going to stand up n pick the sign up. But realized she was walking over it fleeing the scene too. :)
A while later the staff of food court came n pick up the sign.
Reminded of the an old joke where world passes by.
